How to Care for Your Glass Nail File

Who doesn’t love a DIY manicure? All of us, right! Well, a perfect manicure requires the right tools, and what’s better than a good quality glass nail file, a.k.a. crystal nail file. As we know that glass nail files are fantastic as they make for a smooth, easy, and efficient filing experience. Having the right tool is not enough; you need to take care of them for longer-term use. Let’s dig deeper and understand how to clean, store and maintain your favorite nail files.

How to maintain and store my glass nail file?

Glass nail files can indeed last you for years, but they can break too if not stored properly. It’s always a good practice to keep your glass nail file in a protective sleeve after use. Or you can also use a hard case cover to store your glass file away. Whenever you are traveling or on the go, keep your file in its hardcover inside your bag to prevent it from breaking while on the move. And just like that, you are always prepared for a nail emergency anywhere you go!

How to clean my glass nail file?

Glass nail files are super easy to clean, unlike emery boards where the dirt particles get trapped and soon require replacement after just a few uses. Since glass files are made from salon-professional specialty glass, they are non-porous in nature, water-resistant, and do not trap dirt and dead skin particles.  After you treat yourself with a beautiful manicure at home, all you need to do is just hold the Czech glass file in running water and use an anti-bacterial soap to clean it. Use your hand or a brush to scrape off the dirt from the surface of the glass and let it dry on a towel. Remember to remove all soap scum otherwise, it might affect the crystal nail file’s efficiency. Occasionally, you can also use an alcohol-based spray on the file to deeply clean and disinfect it.

Happy Nail Filing!
